The Edgewater Hotel
★★★★- ❤️ Best for couples
Our take There's nowhere else quite like it in Seattle — a hotel built directly over Puget Sound, with a rustic, lodge-like interior that's a deliberate departure from the glass-and-steel hotels downtown.
Good for
Couples and music-history fans after a genuinely different Seattle stay — over-water rooms and a lodge-cabin feel rare for a city-center hotel.
Why we like it
- The only hotel in Seattle built out over the water, with many rooms looking straight out at Puget Sound
- Lodge-style interiors with stone fireplaces in some rooms, distinct from downtown's more corporate hotel stock
- A short walk along the waterfront to Belltown's restaurants and the Olympic Sculpture Park
What to know
- It's a walk (or short rideshare) to Pike Place Market and the retail core, not a walk-out-the-door distance
- Not every room faces the water — check the room type if a water view matters to you
- Parking is valet, as with most waterfront properties in this part of the city
