Where to Stay in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the UAE's capital, and it moves at a calmer pace than Dubai while still packing in some genuinely world-class sights. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest in the world, is open to visitors of all faiths and is worth the trip on its own. The three main bases are the Corniche, the city's waterfront core; Yas Island, built around theme parks and motorsport; and Saadiyat Island, home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi and a run of quiet beach resorts.

Best time to visit
Visit between November and March for warm, comfortable days. Summers (June–September) are extremely hot and humid, and most outdoor sightseeing becomes uncomfortable.
Renting a car
A car makes sense if you'll visit both Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, since they're a distance apart and public transport between them is limited. If you're staying put on the Corniche, taxis and ride-hailing apps cover everything you need.
