The Corniche is an 8-kilometer waterfront promenade that runs along Abu Dhabi's northern edge, backed by the city's main business towers and a run of public beaches. It's the most central place to base yourself, with parks, cycling paths, and views across the water built for an evening stroll.

Transportation & practical information

Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the easiest way to get around; Abu Dhabi's public bus network also runs along the Corniche, though it's less visitor-friendly than Dubai's metro.

A car makes sense if you'll visit both Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, since they're a distance apart and public transport between them is limited. If you're staying put on the Corniche, taxis and ride-hailing apps cover everything you need.
