India uses the rupee. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. Buy tickets online in advance to skip the queue, and go at sunrise if you can — it's both the best light and the thinnest crowds. Only electric vehicles or walking are allowed in the immediate vicinity of the monument, to protect the marble from vehicle pollution.
