Mr. Jordaan
★★★- 📍 Best location
Our take A straightforward, well-run canal-house hotel that puts you right on Bloemgracht instead of on the edge of the neighborhood — hard to beat for the price in this part of town.
Good for
Couples and first-time visitors who want to be inside the Jordaan itself, on one of its quietest and most photogenic canals.
Why we like it
- Sits directly on Bloemgracht, a narrow 17th-century canal a block off Prinsengracht, rather than on a busier Jordaan through-street
- Close enough to the Anne Frank House and the Nine Streets to walk in a few minutes, without being in the middle of Centrum's crowds
- Small enough that it still feels like a neighborhood hotel rather than a chain property
What to know
- Rooms are on the smaller side, typical of a canal-house conversion — worth checking room dimensions before booking if that matters to you
- Some rooms have canal views, others look onto an inner courtyard; it's worth requesting one at booking if a canal view matters
