Cavelossim and Mobor are two adjoining villages on the South Goa coast, about 15 km south of Margao. Cavelossim's beach is known for its mix of dark rock outcrops and pale sand; just south at Mobor, the Sal River flows into the Arabian Sea, so that stretch of beach has water on three sides. Much of the beachfront across both villages is taken up by large resort compounds rather than a dense run of shacks and guesthouses.
