Mykonos
Ornos sits on a protected, west-facing bay a few kilometers from Mykonos Town, with a sandy beach shielded from the island's strong meltemi winds by the cliffs on either side. It's one of the calmer, more organized beaches on the island, with sunbeds, tavernas, watersports operators, and a grocery store and pharmacy right behind the sand. Unlike Chora's cliffside lanes, Ornos is flat and easy to get around, and its resort hotels range from large luxury properties to smaller family-run ones set back from the water.
Relaxed and beach-focused, with a calmer pace than Chora's nightlife lanes. Restaurants along the bay stay lively into the evening without turning into a bar scene, and the shallow, sheltered water makes it a genuine family beach rather than a party one.
Best for families and couples who want a calm, organized beach as their base, with easy bus access into Mykonos Town for dinner or a night out.
