Al Fahidi is where Dubai actually started — a small quarter of restored coral-and-gypsum houses topped with wind towers, sitting right on Dubai Creek. Narrow, shaded lanes lead past art galleries and the Dubai Museum, and a short abra (water taxi) ride across the creek drops you at the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira.

Transportation & practical information

Al Fahidi and BurJuman metro stations are both a short walk away. An abra across the creek to Deira costs next to nothing and runs constantly through the day.
