Transportation & practical information

TRAM lines 1, 3, and 4 run along the coast, connecting San Juan to the city center and Explanada in about 20–25 minutes. It's not realistically walkable to the old town or castle.

Skip the rental car if you're staying near the center. El Barrio's streets are narrow and largely pedestrian, parking downtown is limited, and the TRAM already connects the center to Playa de San Juan directly. A car is only useful for day trips further up or down the Costa Blanca coast.
