Ixia is a modern beachfront resort strip on Rhodes' northwest coast, sandwiched between Rhodes Town and Ialysos along the coast road toward the airport. Its pebble-and-sand beach faces near-constant wind, which has made it one of the island's best-known windsurfing and kitesurfing spots, and the shorefront is lined with resort hotels, restaurants, and travel-agent shops rather than historic sights. It isn't within easy walking distance of Rhodes Old Town, but frequent buses and a short taxi ride connect the two.
