Faliraki is Rhodes' biggest purpose-built beach resort, about 14-16km south of Rhodes Town on the island's east coast, built around a long sandy beach that stretches for several kilometers. It has two distinct sides: a lively strip of bars and clubs known locally as Bar Street, a short walk inland from the beach, and calmer, more family-oriented stretches away from it, including toward the southern end near Ladiko Bay. Faliraki Water Park, billed as the largest in Greece, sits on the hillside above the resort, and the scenic cove known as Anthony Quinn Bay — named after the actor, who fell for it while filming here — lies a short distance from the main beach.

Genuinely one of Rhodes' liveliest resorts after dark, with Bar Street and the adjoining Club Street running loud into the early hours in peak season. By day, the long beach itself has a calmer, classic resort feel, with sunbeds, watersports, and family groups alongside the nightlife crowd.

Transportation & practical information

Faliraki is about 14-16km from Rhodes Town, roughly 15-20 minutes by car; KTEL Rodou and a second summer bus line both run frequent services along the route, with departures roughly every 20 minutes in peak season.

Skip a rental car if you're staying in Rhodes Old Town or Ixia and mostly sticking to the town, a couple of organized beaches, and the KTEL bus to Lindos. Consider one if you want to explore the south coast, inland villages, or quieter beaches on your own schedule — public buses cover the main Lindos and Faliraki corridors well but thin out elsewhere.
