The Innere Neustadt sits directly across the Augustusbrücke from the Altstadt, rebuilt in a disciplined baroque grid after an 18th-century fire and one of the founding quarters of historic Dresden. Its spine is the pedestrianized Hauptstraße, running from the gilded Goldener Reiter statue past the Dreikönigskirche to Albertplatz, with the preserved 18th-century townhouses of Königstraße just to the north. It's calmer and more residential than either the Altstadt or the Äußere Neustadt, but still an easy walk to the old town's sights.
