Deutz sits on the Rhine's right bank, directly across from the old town, and is the only district on that side of the river officially counted as part of Cologne's center. It's more modern and spread out than the Altstadt, built up around the Koelnmesse trade fair grounds and the Lanxess Arena, but its real draw is the Rheinboulevard — a tiered riverside promenade with the best view of the cathedral skyline in the city.
