Lagoa da Conceição is a town built around the shore of the island's largest lagoon, roughly in the geographic center of Santa Catarina Island. It's the most bohemian of Floripa's tourist areas, with a dense cluster of restaurants, bars, and small shops around the main square near the water, sand dunes visible across the lagoon, and a canal-side footbridge, the Ponte Pênsil, that's become one of the area's informal landmarks. The lagoon itself is a hub for stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and kitesurfing, and Praia Mole, one of the island's best-known surf beaches, sits a short ride away.

What it's actually like to stay here

Relaxed by day around the water and noticeably livelier at night, when the restaurants and bars near the main square fill up — Lagoa is generally considered Floripa's liveliest area after dark. It has a younger, more laid-back energy than Jurerê's polished resort feel, closer to a beach town than a planned district.
