Where to Stay in Lagoa da Conceição, Florianópolis

Lagoa da Conceição is a town built around the shore of the island's largest lagoon, roughly in the geographic center of Santa Catarina Island. It's the most bohemian of Floripa's tourist areas, with a dense cluster of restaurants, bars, and small shops around the main square near the water, sand dunes visible across the lagoon, and a canal-side footbridge, the Ponte Pênsil, that's become one of the area's informal landmarks. The lagoon itself is a hub for stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and kitesurfing, and Praia Mole, one of the island's best-known surf beaches, sits a short ride away.

What it's actually like to stay here

Relaxed by day around the water and noticeably livelier at night, when the restaurants and bars near the main square fill up — Lagoa is generally considered Floripa's liveliest area after dark. It has a younger, more laid-back energy than Jurerê's polished resort feel, closer to a beach town than a planned district.

Stay here if

Stay here if you want a walkable town with restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep, easy access to water sports on the lagoon, and a surf beach within easy reach.

Stay elsewhere if

If you want a quiet night's sleep close to the action or calm, shallow swimming water right outside your hotel, Jurerê Internacional's bay beach is a better fit — the lagoon itself isn't a swimming beach, and the town center can run loud on weekend nights.

Walkability
The town center around the main square is compact and easy to cover on foot, with most restaurants, bars, and shops within a few minutes of each other. Praia Mole is not walkable from the center — it's a short drive or bus ride away — so budget for that if a surf beach is the priority.
Noise at night
Lively, especially on weekend nights near the main square and the bar-heavy streets closest to it — this is Floripa's busiest nightlife area, so a room set back from the center sleeps noticeably quieter than one right on top of it.

Hotel Boutique Quinta das Videiras

★★★
  • 🤫 Best for a quiet stay

  • A garden setting that feels more like a private guesthouse than a standard hotel.
  • A small number of rooms, which tends to mean more personal attention from the owners.

Transportation & practical information

Local buses connect Lagoa da Conceição to Centro and to Praia Mole, but service can be infrequent outside peak season. Uber and 99 both work reliably here and are the easiest way to reach Praia Mole or other beaches without a rental car.

The town center itself doesn't need a car — it's compact and walkable — but a car or regular ride-hailing use helps for reaching Praia Mole and the island's other beaches, none of which are walking distance from the lagoon.
