Jurerê Internacional is a planned beach district on the northern shore of Santa Catarina Island, built up since the 1980s around a roughly 3km stretch of sand facing the calm waters of Baía Norte rather than the open Atlantic. Wide avenues, gated residential streets, and a cluster of beach clubs and restaurants along the sand give it a more manicured, resort-like feel than most of Floripa's other beaches, and it's widely considered one of the safer, more upscale places to stay on the island.
