Nob Hill sits at the top of one of San Francisco's steepest hills, lined with grand early-1900s hotels, Grace Cathedral, and mansion-turned-private-club buildings that survived the 1906 earthquake. It's quieter and more residential than Union Square, just a cable car ride away.
