It sits right next to Downtown Miami proper, with the Miami River, Bayside Marketplace, and the American Airlines Arena a short walk or Metromover ride north.

Transportation & practical information

The free Metromover connects Brickell to Downtown and the Omni area. Metrorail's Brickell station links to the airport, and rideshare is the easiest way to reach South Beach, Wynwood, or Coconut Grove.

You don't need a car for any single area in this guide, but getting between South Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, and Coconut Grove is easier with one — Miami's public transit doesn't connect them well. Rent one only if you're planning to cover multiple areas in a day or head out toward the Everglades.
