Transportation & practical information

No rail line reaches Gurney Drive — Grab or a rental car/scooter is the easiest way to reach the heritage core or the rest of the island; some hotels run their own shuttle to town.

Skip a car for the heritage core itself — its narrow one-way streets and scarce parking make walking or Grab easier. A car (or scooter) becomes genuinely useful if you're also heading out to Batu Ferringhi's beaches or around the rest of the island.
