This area covers central Nara — Nara Park, home to Todai-ji, Kasuga Shrine, and the city's free-roaming deer, and Naramachi, the preserved Edo-period merchant quarter just south of it. Together they hold almost everything a visitor comes to Nara for, all within walking distance.

Transportation & practical information

JR Nara and Kintetsu Nara stations both connect directly to Kyoto (about 45 minutes) and Osaka (about 35–40 minutes), making the whole area an easy train ride from either city.
