Neustadt is Salzburg's right-bank district, built up around Mirabell Palace once the old town across the river ran out of room. Mirabell Palace and Gardens, Mozart's family residence on Makartplatz, and the Linzergasse shopping street sit here, with the Altstadt a short walk or footbridge away across the Salzach.
